The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) have reaffirmed their recommitment to jointly facilitate the completion of the ongoing Train-7 project as part of the NLNG’s current drive towards adoption of gas as a better energy source for domestic and industrial activities nationwide.
The two agencies made the pledge on Wednesday when the Managing Director/CEO of the NLNG, Engr. Adeleye Falade, paid a courtesy visit to the NCDMB’s Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Ogbe, at the Board’s liaison office in Lagos.
Speaking during the visit, the NLNG’s boss said the company remained focused on deepening Nigerian content by strengthening indigenous capacity and improving in-country value addition across the gas value chain.
Falade told the NCDMB’s chief that ongoing construction of its Train 7 project had reached 90 percent, adding that arrangements were ongoing to ensure the completion of the project and commissioning in 2027 to increase NLNG’s overall production capacity by 35 percent.

He expressed his satisfaction that the Train 7 project had created direct employment opportunities for 16,000 Nigerians, reduced insecurity and positively impacting on the nation’s socio-economic development
The industry expert restated the NLNG’s commitment to sustaining engagement with NCDMB in support of Nigerian Content development, local capacity growth, and increased participation of Nigerian companies in the oil and gas value chain and by so doing, translating the nation’s gas resources into broader economic opportunities for businesses, professionals, service providers, and host communities.
He explained: “NLNG values its relationship with NCDMB and remains fully committed to the shared goal of strengthening Nigerian Content in the oil and gas industry. As a major player in Nigeria’s gas sector, we recognise our responsibility to support indigenous capacity, grow local supply chains, and ensure that our activities continue to deliver meaningful value to the Nigerian economy.
“Our commitment is to work closely with the Board in a manner that is deliberate, measurable, and impactful. We want NLNG’s operations and partnerships to continue opening doors for Nigerian businesses, building competitive local capabilities, and supporting the long-term growth of Nigeria’s gas industry”, Falade added.
In his remarks, the NCDMB’s Executive Secretary congratulated Engr. Falade on his appointment and promised that the Board would continue to support him in achieving the mandate of the agency.
He maintained that NCDMB and NLNG shared a relationship that spanned beyond regulator and operator and recalled how the Board and NLNG in June 2017 signed the maiden Service Level Agreement (SLA) on Nigerian Content project approval timelines and compliance, which later became a template for the oil and gas industry’s operations.
