The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, has described the Sigvent Industrial Cluster as a transformative project capable of unlocking the vast economic potential of Ogbomoso and catalysing industrialisation, innovation, job creation, and enterprise development in Oyo State and the country.
The minister made the remarks at the Ogbomoso Economic Summit and Exhibition held in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, where she commended the promoters of the project – Sigvent Industrial Cluster Limited – for their vision and commitment to inclusive economic growth in the country.
Oduwole maintained that economic initiative aligned with the Federal Government’s industrialisation strategy, which prioritized private-sector-led growth, innovation, and sustainable job creation in the country.
She enthused: “The Sigvent Industrial Cluster represents a forward-thinking approach to regional development. It will stimulate investment, promote research and innovation, and create opportunities that empower local enterprises and communities.”

The minister reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting the project since it will serve as a catalyst for value addition, skills development, and economic diversification.
Oduwole maintained: “The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment will continue to back initiatives like this that promote sustainable industrialisation, create decent jobs, and enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness.”
Speaking at the event, a royal father and Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Olaoye (Orumogege III), commended the Minister for recognising Ogbomoso’s potential as an emerging industrial hub and assured the community’s support for the cluster and other economic initiatives with great potential for the socioeconomic transformation of Ogobomoso, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Participants at the summit, who comprised captains of industry, political leaders, investors, and policymakers, described the approval of the cluster as a major boost to investor confidence and expressing optimism that the project would attract both local and foreign investments and transform Ogbomoso land into a thriving centre of commerce and innovation.
