President Tinubu Inaugurates New NNPCL Board

President Bola Tinubu has administered the oath of office on the newly appointed board and management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The inauguration event of the board members came barely seven weeks after their appointments were announced on April 2, 2025 by the Presidency.

While Ahmadu Kida was sworn in as the Non-Executive Chairman of the board, Bayo Bashir Ojulari assumed the role of Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL.

Other members of the 11-member board are Adedapo Segun and Bello Rabiu, representing the North West; Yusuf Usman, representing the North East; Babs Omotowa, a former Managing Director of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, representing the North Central; Austin Avuru, Non-Executive Director for the South-South; David Ige, representing the South-West; and Henry Obih, representing the South-East.

According to the Presidency, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Lydia Jafiya, will serve on the board as the ministry’s representative, while Aminu Ahmed will represent the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

The inauguration of the board was witnessed by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mr. Mohammed Idris and the Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri.
