NGX Trading Sustains Positive Momentum, As Investors Gain N97.7Bn

Trading activities on the Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday was bullish as the NGX ASI maintained its upward trajectory, increasing by 0.15% to close at 104,788.35 points.

At the end of the trading session, the overall market capitalization rose to N64.88 trillion, representing N97.7 billion for investors.

According to the data from the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), three out of the five sectors recorded gains with the Consumer good index leading the gainers table with a 0.16% increase while Industrial goods index and the Banking index recorded marginal increase of 0.05% and 0.03% respectively.

Conversely, the Insurance index declined by 0.52% while the Oil and Gas recorded a marginal decline of 0.01%.

The data from the NGX reflected that in terms of trading volume, FBNH topped the charts, trading 83.07 million units, accounting for 17.61% of the total volume traded for the day, despite a decline on 0.68% in its stock price and ZENITHBANK followed, trading 29.52 million units.

On the value chart, GEREGU topped the chart accounting for an excess of 41.66% of the total value traded although the price of the stock remained unchanged.

Overall, the market sentiment was positive with a market breadth of 1.65x up from Monday’s 0.60x with 38 gainers compared to 23 losers even as the UD ratio surged to 0.85 up from previous day trading session of 0.31x.
