Trading activities on the Nigerian Exchange sustained positive momentum with All-Share Index (ASI) marginally gaining 0.1% and settling at 105,430.15 points at the end of trading on Thursday.
The market capitalization also surged to N65.28 trillion, as investors; wealth increased by N65.18 billion.
Data from the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on the performance of the local bourse showed that ETERNA and CADBURY led the gainers’ chart, with both stocks posting a gain of 9.88% and trading volume of 218.59 million units and 69.81 million units respectively.
On the volume of stocks traded, the data indicated that the Banking stocks dominated trading volume, with ACCESSCORP leading at 61.59 million units, accounting for 11.47% of total market volume, despite a 0.72% depreciation in its share price. STERLINGNG followed closely, contributing 9.34% with 50.15 million units traded.

However, the NGX report reflected that GEREGU topped the value chart, accounting for 35.97% of total value traded, exchanging 8 million units for N8.28 billion across 130 deals.
Similarly, in the money market, following yesterday’s Treasury Bills auction by the Federal Government, rates for the 90-day and 180-day tenors remained unchanged, while the 365-day bill recorded a decline of 1.67%, signaling shifting market sentiment.
Overall, at the end of Thursday’s trading session, market sentiment remained positive although the market breadth dropped to 1.43x down from the preceding day’s 1.76x , 33 stocks gaining compared to 23 losers.
