FG, Other Tiers Shared N2.225Trn From August 2025 Revenue – FAAC

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) on Wednesday disclosed that a total sum of N2,225.118 billion, being August  2025 Federation Account Revenue, was shared to the Federal Government, States and the Local Government Councils.

The communiqué issued at the end of the committee’s meeting held in Abuja showed that the N2,225.118 billion total distributable revenue comprised statutory revenue of N1,478.593 billion , Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N672.903 billion, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of N32.338 billion and  Exchange Difference N41.284 billion.

The communiqué indicated that total gross revenue of N3,635.802 billion was generated in the month out of which total deduction for cost of collection stood at N124.839 billion while total transfers, interventions, refunds and savings was N1,285.845 billion

According to the FAAC, gross revenue of N722.619 billion was available for sharing to the tiers of government from the Value Added Tax (VAT) in the month under review compared to the N687.940 billion distributed to the tiers of government in July, representing an increase of N34.679 billion .

Also, the communiqué reflected that from the N1,478.593  billion total distributable revenue, the Federal Government received total N684.462 billion, state governments got N347.168 billion, the local governments shared N267.652 billion, while N179.311 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared to the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

Out of the N672.903 billion distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue, the Federal Government received N100.935 billion, the State Governments received N336.452 billion and the Local Government Councils received N235.516 billion.

The committee reported that a total sum of N4.851  billion was received by the Federal Government from the N32.338 billion from  Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).  The State Governments received N16.169  billion and the Local Government Councils received N11.318 billion.

From the N41.284 billion from Exchange Difference, the communiqué stated that the Federal Government received N19.799 billion and the State Governments got N10.042 billion,   the local governments shared N7.742 billion, while the sum of N3.701 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was disbursed to the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

In the month, the FAAC stated that the Gross Statutory Revenue of N2,838.214 billion collected was lower  than the sum of N3,070.127 billion received  in the previous month by N231.913 billion.

It also confirmed that Oil & Gas Royalty, Value Added Tax (VAT) and CET Levies significantly increased in August while Petroleum profit Tax (PPT), Import Duty, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL),Companies Income Tax (CIT) and Excise Duty recorded declined.
