We Need 192M Litres Of Petroleum Products For 2nd Niger Bridge – Fashola

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, has disclosed that the ongoing  second Niger Bridge project will need about  192 million litres of petroleum products to complete it.

The minister, who made this disclosure during the BRF, Gabfest 2 in Lagos with theme ‘Where are the jobs’, said that this volume of products would create opportunities for oil companies for exploration in their drive towards improved performance.

Describing the project as desirable to the current efforts targeted at enhancing the nation’s infrastructure, the minister said that in addition to the huge resources being committed to the project by the government, about 18 million bags of cement would be needed to complete another key project – the Mambila Hydro Project.

He explained:  “We will require about 192 million litres of petroleum product to complete the second Niger bridge. This will in return create opportunity for several oil, logistics and other companies in the country.

“President Mohammadu Buhari does not have time to write letters, but he understands the needs for infrastructure development, and he is working along with other ministers to achieve this.

“People complains about the country’s economy, the truth is that, there is nothing wrong with Nigeria’s economy”, Fashola added.

He projected that the completion of the second Niger Bridge and the Mabila Hydro power projects would provide several opportunities for Nigerians.

According to him, infrastructure is key to job creation in any country in the world, and this is what the present government is dealing with since no nation in the world has ever created jobs by proclamation.
