UAE Restarts Visa Issuance To Nigerians

The Nigerian Government and the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have sealed a pact for the resumption of visa issuance to travellers with Nigerian passports desirous of travelling to the Middle East country.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who gave this hint while briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday, said the implementation of the agreement was with immediate effect.

The minister clarified: “You are aware that Nigeria has been discussing with the United Arab Emirates on the issue of visas for Nigerian passport holders going to the United Arab Emirates.

“Today, an agreement has been reached on that, and effective from today 15th July, Nigerian passport holders are able to obtain visa to go to the United Arab Emirates.

“Details of that will be provided to you latter today when we put out a statement.

“But I can tell you that the agreement has been reached, and effective from today, Nigerian passport holders intending to travel to the UAE are able to do so”, Idris added.

The UAE had on its website indicated in order to apply for UAE visa for Nigerian citizens and come to the country safely and smoothly, such an intending visitor need should prepare a scanned copy of the person’s passport bio page; and create a passport photo in any size he or she likes and that the name of the profile is the applicant’s first and last name.

In addition, the applicant should have a color photo of his or her passport, which should be valid for at least six months and has at least two blank pages, and an email address to receive notifications after registration.
