President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Zacch Adedeji as the Acting Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
The new FIRS’ boss who was previously the Special Adviser on Revenue to the President holds a first-class degree, a Masters degree in Accounting and subsequently earned his PhD in Public Sector Finance from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Adedeji, who holds a certificate in Comparative Tax Policy and Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, is a Fellow of ICAN and CITN.
The new appointee had had an impressive career trajectory having worked at Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) later became a Manager before he was appointed as Commissioner for Finance, in Oyo State during the period from 2011 to 2015 under Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s administration.
He later served as Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC).
Apart from his public service career, Adedeji is the co-founder and managing partner of RTR, a financial consulting firm that offers financial advisory and policy development services to public administrators and private institutions in West Africa.
