The Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria, Dr. Emomotimi Agama, has urged stakeholders in the nation’s capital market to promote fairness, transparency and inclusivity in their deals in the market.
Agama, who made the appeal in a Christmas Message to the capital market community, expressed his desire for them and their loved ones for a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year
He maintained that only a fair and transparent capital market can attract investors both local and foreign to the Nigerian capital market.
The Director-General stated: “As we celebrate the joy, love, and magic of the season, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders in the Nigerian capital market for your tireless efforts, commitment, and resilience. Remember that we need to remain steadfast and resolute in our determination to have the capital market that we desire.”
While thanking issuers, investors, intermediaries, and other market participants, for their continued trust and confidence in the market, Agama said their contributions had been instrumental in shaping the Nigerian capital market into a vibrant and attractive destination for investors.
He said: “On behalf of the Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria, I wish you and your loved ones a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year. May your hearts be filled with joy, your homes be filled with laughter, and your spirits be renewed”.
In the spirit of the Yuletide festivities, the Director-General conveyed his deepest gratitude to the staff of the commission for their tireless efforts, commitment, and passion to grow the capital market.
According to him, the employees’ hard work and dedication have been instrumental in shaping the Nigerian capital market into a vibrant and attractive destination for investors as he expressed his joy in leading such a talented team.
