The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has confirmed the inclusion of the names of 284 retired personnel of Nigeria Re Insurance company into its monthly payroll to enable the affected retirees enjoy the benefits of their labour.
This step was undertaking by the Directorate 16 years after the company was privatized by the Federal Government.
In furtherance of its commitment to making the retirees comfortable after years of untold hardship, the Directorate hinted that it paid a total sum of N8.31 million to the new enrollees for the month of July, marking the commencement of the receiving their monthly pension for life.
The Executive Secretary of the Directorate, Sharon Ikeazor, who confirmed the latest development, assured that the PTAD management would continue to do its best to ensure that pensioners’ entitlements were not denied them.
Ikeazor said: “No pensioner or retiree, after serving their fatherland should ever be forced into the indignity and painful uncertainty of delayed pensions. Today, Nigeria Reinsurance pensioners verified by PTAD Nigeria have been placed on monthly pension payroll. It is indeed a promise kept.”
She commended the Directorate’s team for the dedication to fulfill its mandate and reiterated the present administration’s commitment to pensioners’ welfare.
The pension management expert also promised that the backlog of outstanding pension arrears of the new enrollees would l be paid as funds are allocated and released to the agency.
