…Rakes In N33.7Bn In October
Port Harcourt Area I Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded the highest revenue collection in its history of operations, raking N33.753 billion in October this year.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Barilule Aanee, stated that with the October revenue collections, the Command had already surpassed its annual revenue target for the 2025 fiscal year.
According to her, the October revenue performance of the command is significantly higher than the N9.079 billion it collected in the same month last year, highlighting the Command’s growing efficiency under ongoing reforms.

The PRO stated that from January and October 2025, the Command had generated N247.461 billion, exceeding its N216 billion target for the year and higher than the N164.080 billion it collected as revenue in the corresponding period in 2024.
Commenting on the performance, the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku, attributed the command’s impressive revenue collections to the current reforms in the Service.
She clarified: “The outstanding performance is largely due to the introduction of the Unified Customs Management System, known as B’Odogwu, and the Service’s renewed focus on compliance, transparency, and stakeholder engagement.”
Atuluku maintained that the new system and structural reforms had strengthened operational oversight and improved real-time monitoring of transactions, thereby reducing revenue leakages and ensuring improved compliance by port users.
She recalled that the Command had intensified its enforcement and monitoring mechanisms, resulting in more consistent and transparent revenue outcomes, adding that the officers and men of the command “have shown great dedication in ensuring that our processes are efficient and that all revenue leakages are blocked.”
The Comptroller also commended the collaborative efforts of terminal operators, freight forwarders, and security agencies, describing their partnership as crucial to the command’s improving performance over the months
Meanwhile, the Apapa Area Command of the NCS last week had reported that it generated N304 billion as revenue in October this year, the highest monthly revenue ever collected by any NCS’ Command in the history of the Service.
The Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, disclosed the collection surpassed the N264 billion recorded in October 2024, thereby setting a new national record in revenue collection by the various commands.
He attributed the command’s outstanding performance to the Comptroller-General’s ongoing reforms, including the planned Drive Through Scanning system, which can process about 150 containers hourly, and the introduction of a One-Stop-Shop (OSS) model to streamline clearance procedures and reduce delays.
