The Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI), which was launched in 2023, is a flagship programme of the Federal Government to fast-track the nation’s transition to cleaner, more affordable, and more sustainable transportation energy sources.
The initiative is designed to encourage adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and electric vehicles especially in cost-saving mass transit systems, job creation, energy security, and environmental sustainability while aligning with national policies on sustainable transport, reduced emissions, gas-flaring mitigation, and economic growth.
