The Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, Engr. Tukur Lawal, who gave this hint when he led a high-powered delegation of the company to NAPET headquarters in Abuja, expressed confidence in NIGCOMSAT’s capacity and manpower to deliver satellite solutions for NAPET and its parent company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company.
He commended the contributions of NNPCL and NAPET to the nation’s economic growth, adding that the meeting with NAPET is one of the most productive interactions he had experienced with any government agency.
Lawal welcomed the opportunity extended by NAPET to NIGCOMSAT to utilize its resources for the provision of satellite services given the importance of the partnership in exploring such opportunities to enhance NIGCOMSAT’s business prospects.
In his welcome address, the NAPET’s CEO, Mallam Sanusi Yerima, said that he was optimistic that the strategic partnership with NIGCOMSAT would bolster NNPCL’s infrastructure and restated the agency’s commitment to conducting business globally and maximising profitability.
He listed the ongoing Kogi, Kaduna and Abuja (KKA) pipeline projects as benefitting from NIGCOMSAT’s services and commended the company “on-the-move vehicle” infrastructure, which enables the provision of satellite services in remote areas, including air and sea.
According to a statement issued by NIGCOMSAT’s General Manager, Corporate Affairs and Special Projects, Dr. Adamu Idris, the NAPET’s management expressed interest in the L-Band services following which both parties agreed to constitute a Committee, comprising five members from each organisation to develop a modality for the business partnership.
