The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) will tomorrow unveil its Investopedia, a transformative platform designed to attract investment to the 36 states of the federation by showcasing their economic potential of the various states.

The NGF’s Director of Media and Strategic Communications, Tanko Abdullahi, hinted that the initiative, represented a major step taken by the state governments towards improving foreign and local investment inflows to the sub-national level of the nation’s economy.

According to him, Investopedia, a biennial publication to be in both print and digital formats, will highlight priority projects across sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, tourism, and digital technology.

Abdullahi stated that the publication, compiled over three months with validated data from state governments, would offer investors detailed analyses, competitive advantages, and policy incentives to foster an enabling business environment.

He hinted that the NGF aimed to promote the initiative at global events, including the Intra-African Trade Fair, the UN General Assembly, and the Africa Investment Forum (AIF), as part of their efforts to attract foreign investments to the states.

According to the NGF’s spokesman, the launch event will feature governors from all 36 states presenting their flagship projects, with the signing of a ceremonial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise their partnerships and lay the foundation for the NGF Fund.

Also, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, is expected to deliver a keynote address at the event while foreign investors, ambassadors, and experts from Afreximbank, Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), the United National Development Programme (UNDP), Cavista, and the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICPC) will also participate in the pre-publication launch discussions. The event will conclude with the distribution of Investopedia to development finance institutions, embassies, and private capital desks.

Abdullahi recalled that Nigeria gad been contending with some challenges, inlcuding s low investor confidence, frequent government transitions, and fragmented entry points, which had hindered state-level investment, adding that Investopedia seeks to address these by providing a coordinated, credible platform for high-impact investments.

He further clarified that the NGF also planned a post-launch roadmap, including investment clinics for government-to-government and business-to-government matching in Q3 and Q4 2025, apart from the capacity-building programmes on public-private partnership structuring and risk mitigation.

The NGF’s spokesman noted that Investopedia launch would  be complemented by the NGF’s collaboration with the Nigerian Press Council (NPC) on a book documenting states’ economic and tourism profiles, to further demonstrate the governors’  commitment to Nigeria’s sustainable development and positioning the country as a preferred investmnt destination from across the world.
