The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has called for written submissions from industry stakeholders on the updated draft regulatory instruments and participation in the public inquiries scheduled to soon hold in Abuja.
The NCC Director of Public Affairs, Dr. Reuben Muoka, in a statement, indicated that in exercise of the commission’s functions under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (the Act), had published the draft regulatory instruments on its corporate website at www.ncc.gov.ng for stakeholders’ comments.
According to the director, the new draft regulations comprised the Telecommunications Networks Interconnection Regulations (as amended); Guidelines on Procedure for Granting Approval to Disconnect Telecommunications Operators (as amended); and Guidelines on Dispute Resolution (as amended).
Muoka stated that in accordance with Section 57 of the Act, the commission “had scheduled Public Inquiries in respect of the above-mentioned draft regulatory instruments to hold at the Conference Room of the commission’s head office on May 21 and 22 in Abuja.
He stated that any interested stakeholders, by virtue of the notice, “are invited to make written submissions on the subject and participate in the Public Inquiries.”
In addition, the director advised stakeholders to send their submissions to the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission on or before Friday, May 10, 2024.
