The Wood/Furniture Products Sectoral Group of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has charged the Federal and State Governments to frontally address the increasingly worrisome state of the nation’s infrastructure, particularly power, to support optimal productivity in interior industry and other sectors of the economy.
The Chairman of the Group, Mrs. Ngozi Oyewole, who gave the charge in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday ahead of the World Interiors Day celebration on May 28, said fixing the critical infrastructure had become imperative in view of the constraining impact of inadequate power supply and increase in the price of diesel, amongst other hiccups, on the economy.
Oyewole, who is also the founder of NOXIE Limited, said the challenges largely affected the industry, its experts, operators as well as potential investors.
To address these challenges and in commemoration of the World Interiors Day, she hinted that the MAN Wood/ Furniture Products Sectoral Group would host a webinar which will focus on exploring, learning, discovering, creating and celebrating the impact of the built environment on all human actions and behavior in the country.
According to her, the theme of the webinar is “Pride of The Past, an Incentive for the Future’ chosen to celebrate innovation and a future-forward look at the profession, while honouring the past and learning from its experiences.
Oyewole said: “The webinar will help the industry experts express and share their creativity and most especially understand the relevance of our work as architects and interior designers.”
