Gov Abiodun Appoints Consultants For Gateway International Airport’s Take-off

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has appointed three consultants to oversee the state’s aviation sector with a view to ensuring the standards of airport operations aligns with global best practices.

The Secretary to the Ogun State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, who stated this on Tuesday, specifically maintained that the appointments were preparatory to the take-off of the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport.

According to the SSG, the experts appointed to take responsibility for specific areas in the fast developing aviation sector in the state are Capt Dapo Olumide, who was appointed as Consultant on Airport Management; Engr. Benedict Adeyileka, who is the Consultant on Regulatory Matters (Aviation); and Engr Mohammed Odunowo, who will serve as Consultant on Aviation.

Talabi clarified: “Please note that the above appointments by His Excellency were based on the relevant and cognitive expertise and experience of the appointees in national and international aviation sector.”

The Gateway Agro-Cargo Airport project, which is located   in the Iperu-Ilishan axis of the state, was initiated a little over two years ago and will soon commence passenger and cargo operations.

During his recent visit to Ogun State about a month ago, the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, commended the state government on the significant progress it recorded in the construction of the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport.
