A former Statistician-General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Dr. Yemi Kale, has been appointed as Partner/Chief Economist at KPMG Nigeria, one of the leading professional services firms in the country.
The consulting firm on Thursday, March 9, tweeted about the new appointment that “as our Chief Economist, Yemi will lead the Firm’s views on macroeconomics and enhance the breadth of our solutions involving economic modeling & macroeconomic analysis, in private and public sector clients”.
According to the firm, in his new position, the former Statistician-General of the Federation, who successfully completed his two-term tenure in October 2021 and is widely respected as a world class professional in his field, will be responsible for providing economic analysis expertise and insight services for the firm’s clients across various sectors.
Also, the newly appointed Partner/Chief Economist will also be expected to advise the KPMG Nigeria’s board and management team on economic ancillary policy issues that could affect the firm’s operations and add value to clients’ businesses and operations.
Kale holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) honours degree in Economics (First Class) from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, a Master of Science (Distinction) and a Ph.D in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
In his professional career, he had garnered practical knowledge from both the public and private sectors locally and internationally on macroeconomic analysis, financial, economic and investment research, fiscal and monetary policies, which have helped in enhancing his competence and managerial skill over the years.
