FG To Begin Payment Of Outstanding Wage Award Arrears To Workers

The Federal Government on Monday hinted of its plans to begin to offset the outstanding five months N35,000 wage award arrears to federal government workers.

The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) made this known in a statement issued in Abuja.

The OAGF stated that the government had earlier paid five months wage award to federal employees in instalments, adding that the outstanding arrears will be paid in instalments of N35,000 per month for five months.

According to the Office’s Director (Press and Public Relations), Bawa  Mokwa, the first instalment of the outstanding wage award arrears will be paid after the payment of April 2025 salary.

He stated: “The wage award arrears would not be paid with the April 2025 salary; it will come immediately after the salary is paid.”

The Director reiterated the Federal Government’s resolve to fully implement all policies and agreements regarding staff remunerations and welfare to enhance productivity and efficiency in the public service
