The Federal Government on Thursday postponed the international flights scheduled to commence on 29th August, 2020 to 5th September 2020.
Disclosing this on its twitter handle, the Federal Ministry of Aviation, Nigeria, apologised to Nigerians over the recent development.
It twitted: “Breaking: Regret to announce that the international flight resumption earlier scheduled to resume on 29th August has been shifted to 5th September 2020.”
The latest news came after airline operators and Nigerians and entrepreneurs with import-export orientation had been preparing for the earlier announced date of 29th August for the commencement of international flights after over five months of international routes’ closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic/
A top airline operator, who spoke to BRTNews,ng on the one-week shift of flights on the condition of anonymity expressed disappointment over the “unnecessary shift of date given the huge losses of Nigerian businesses and operators’ incurred over the past months as a result of the lockdown”
