The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has extended the deadline for all beneficiaries under the Fast Track Scheme to migrate to the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Programme from December 31, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
The National Public Relations Officer and Deputy Comptroller, Abdullahi Maiwada, in a statement indicated that the extension was part of the Service’s drive to deepen trade facilitation, enhance supply chain security, and strengthen compliance in line with international best practices.
The NCS’ spokesperson advised all remaining Fast Track beneficiaries to complete their migration via the official platform, aeo.nigeriatradehub.gov.ng, noting that only certified AEO participants will continue to enjoy facilitation privileges previously available under the Fast Track Scheme.
According to him, enquiries and technical support for the processes are available through aeo@customs.gov.ng.

As part of its efforts to ensure a seamless transition, the Service has also scheduled another Stakeholders Engagement Forum for Thursday next week in Lagos with a view to providing practical guidance on AEO application procedures and address compliance-related concerns to the operators and other stakeholders.
Maiwada encouraged all Fast Track beneficiaries to make use of the extended window and actively participate in the sensitisation exercise as compliance will strengthen supply chain efficiency while promoting transparency and national competitiveness.
He also reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to improving trade efficiency, safeguarding national revenue, and enhancing a predictable and secure cargo clearance system that supports legitimate business.
The AEO Programme, a globally recognised compliance-based initiative under the World Customs Organisation (WCO) SAFE Framework, avails trusted operators benefits, including expedited cargo release, reduced documentation, pre-arrival processing, and lower inspection levels.
The full migration is backed by Sections 108 to 111 of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023.
