The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared two more individuals wanted in connection with an alleged cryptocurrency fraud scheme linked to the collapsed digital trading platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).

In a notice issued on Wednesday via its official social media channels, the anti-graft agency identified the suspects, both of whom were accused of orchestrating fraudulent activities on the platform, as Folashade Odelana, 31, and Bamidele Ayodele Abiodun, 32.

According to the EFCC, the last known address of the duo is No. 17, Oremeta Street, Allen, Ikeja, Lagos State.

The statement partly read: “The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear below are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).”

The anti-graft agency urged members of the public with credible information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts to contact its offices across Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja and added that contact can also be made through its official helplines or via e-mail at info@efccnigeria.org, or by reporting to the nearest police station or security agency.

The latest action of the anti-graft agency brings the total number of individuals declared wanted in connection with the CBEX fraud to 12.

It would be recalled that in April this year, thousands of CBEX users were suddenly unable to access or withdraw their investments from the platform, resulting in over N1.3 trillion reported to the users.

Following the outcry of the users, launched its investigation on the scam after which it declared eight persons wanted in relation to the fraud.

They include Adefowora Abiodun Olanipekun, Adefowora Oluwanisola, Emmanuel Uko, Seyi Oloyede, Johnson Okiroh Otieno, Israel Mbaluka, Joseph Michiro Kabera, and Serah Michiro. Similarly, the agency secured arrest warrants for six suspects, namely Olanipekun, Oluwanisola, Uko, Oloyede, Avwerosuo Otorudo, and Chukwuebuka Ehirim.

The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, assured the public that the commission was making progress with its investigations and recovery efforts on the fraud.
