Nigeria’s equities market is expected to trade on a mixed note following the strong gains recorded last week, with profit-taking likely after the recent rally, keeping investor positioning cautious and selective, investment experts at Bancorp Securities Limited have projected.
The experts, in the firm’s ‘Weekly Stock Recommendation 12th January 2026 – 16th January 2026’ circulated to our correspondent on Monday, also anticipated that investor activity would remain selective ahead of upcoming releases of financial statements and dividends.
The analysts at one of the investment research and stockbroking consulting firms in Nigeria, who hinged their predictions on the prevailing micro and macroeconomic indices in the broad economy, recalled that last week, the equities market extended its bullish start of this year, building on the prior week’s gains with a broad-based rally across major sectors.
Specifically, on the outlook for equities markets this week, the Bancorp Securities’ experts projected: “The equities market is expected to trade on a mixed, following the strong gains recorded last week. Profit-taking is expected after the recent rally, keeping investor positioning cautious and selective while activity is likely to focus on stocks in anticipation of upcoming corporate disclosures and earnings releases.”
