The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has advocated the need for policy measures to support investments in the country, especially those that could help indigenous entrepreneurs to grow their businesses in order to ensure sustainable growth of the nation’s economy.

The Chamber’s President, Dr. Mujtaba Abubakar, in his chat with journalists at the 16th Abuja International Trade Fair on Monday, pointed out that such policies would raise more industrialists like Aliko Dangote, who, he said, had been doing so much over the years to add to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) through sundry industrial activities.

He said: “For Nigeria to develop its economy exponentially, it would need more industrialists like Aliko Dangote.

“Dangote is one of the foremost business groups on the African continent. We take our relationship with them very seriously. In this Trade Fair, Dangote pavilion is the biggest.” Abubakar added.

He explained that both the ACCI and Dangote Group shared a common interest in the development of commerce and the industrialization of Nigeria, adding that “light attracts light. Dangote Group is growing and the Abuja Chamber is growing.”

Mujtaba further lauded the contributions of Dangote  Group as one of the major sponsors of the 16th Abuja International Trade Fair and described the group’s contributions to Nigerian economic growth as remarkable.

In his remarks, Dangote Group’s Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina,  said the participation of the Group in the Trade Fair was part of the group’s strategic initiatives to grow its market share and expand customer reach.
