Managing Director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Capt. Fola Akinkuotu, has charged workers in the agency to come up with useful ideas and suggestions on how best to boost the agency’s revenue.
Giving this charge during his remarks at the 2017 Commercial Department Officers’ Retreat held in Lagos, the industry expert said that it behoved on the employees to help in entrenching a transparent platform where all the agency’s earnings are clearly harnessed through proper issuance of invoices for settlement of charges.
Akinkuotu harped on the fact that the realisation of the budget estimates of the agency can only be achieved through diligent processing of revenue collections and remittances by personnel of Commercial Department.
Earlier in her welcome address, the General Manager, Commercial of the agency, Mrs Joy Umeh, explained that the retreat was organized to create a forum for learning as a strategic step towards enabling employees to be well equipped with latest trends in handling complex issues relating to revenue collection.
She said that she was confided that issues relating to the collective task would be properly understood as participants through experience sharing and cross-fertilisation of relevant ideas on revenue generation in the agency.
The three-day Annual Commercial Department Officers’ Retreat with the theme, “Revenue Generation: A Veritable Tool for Financing Air Navigation Services” was attended by participants from 26 stations nationwide.
It also featured power-point presentations, lectures and a report on the progress already made by the agency in its implementation of Federal Government Executive Order on revenue generation by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
