The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday warned the President Buhari-led administration not to raise taxes to prevent a relapse of the nation’s economy into recession.

Giving the advice during the 11th Bola Tinubu Colloquium to mark the 67th birthday of the former Lagos State Governor at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, urged the government to broaden its revenue sources to improve collections and position the government to do more for Nigerians.

The APC chieftain also asked the government to improve power supply available and avoid a situation where electricity consumers in the country are being made to pay exorbitant tariffs or bills for power that is not supplied to them.

This is even as he canvassed the need to revisit the Nigerian privatization and commercialization programme as a strategic option of realizing the objectives more in terms of its socio-economic dividends for the country.
