The Commissioner for Youths and Special Duties, Mr Mika Amanokha, made this disclosure on the floor of the Edo House of Assembly during the ministerial briefing which commenced on Monday.

Specifically, the commissioner told the lawmakers that the amount was generated from the use of facilities at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, the state capital.

Amanokha, explained that but for the ongoing renovation project at the main bowl of the stadium, the ministry would have met the target of N24 million set for it in the 2018 Appropriation law.

He said: “The ministry would have been able to meet the target of N24 million if the renovation work at the main bowl of the stadium was completed.”

In his remarks, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Adjoto, expressed serious concern over the worrisome cases of young girls engaging in prostitution, particularly around the Ihama Road axis of the state capital.
