To sustain the operations of the defunct Skye Bank Plc, the monetary authorities have injected the sum of N786 billion into the bridge bank, Polaris Bank.

A statement by the Head, Strategic Brand Management and Communication of the bank, Nduneche Ezurike, issued shortly after the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele announced the revocation of the former bank’s licence on Friday, indicated the existing board, management and staff of the defunct Skye Bank had been retained for its good performance.

According to him, the N768 billion funding support was provided for the new bank by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

The spokesperson reiterated the CBN Governor’s assurances on the safety of customers’ funds as the new bank has assumed full responsibility to sustain the former Skye Bank Plc’s operations.
