In furtherance of its commitment to women empowerment, SME and youth development which are all pivotal to the sustainable growth of the economy, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, today flagged off its multi-pronged SME support programme- SMEConnect Series – in Lagos.
The programme is- developed by the Bank to chart a veritable course for SME development, emphasizing boundless opportunities for entrepreneurial business development.
The programme includes open seminars to build capacity; sector-specific industry forums; support offerings; business advisory; financial planning & management; tailor made products; and business oriented credit access.
The April 2018 edition holding todai in Lagos will feature SMEConnect Clinics and Masterclass sessions on Marketing & Branding, Human Resources, Accounting & Finance and Legal Services.
The Friday (tomorrow) and Saturday trainings scheduled to be provided in Benin City, Edo State the bank would be partnering with the Edo State Government to hold a two-day mentoring session for SMEs, women and youths.
A statement by the bank on the capacity building trainings indicated that tomorrow’s training sessions will empower women and SMEs on business and investment opportunities while the youths will be mentored on choosing a career path and entrepreneurship using the bank’s array of products and services.
Speaking on the events, the Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Folake Ani-Mumuney, explained that the bank had been at the vanguard of creativity, capacity and capital for SMEs and women-led business in recognition of their immense contribution to national development.
She stated: “We would also continue to ensure that we provide the necessary opportunities and collaborations to empower our youths to become successful business leaders of tomorrow.”
