As business activity continues to slowdown this festive season, investment experts at Bancorp Securities Limited, a leading investment consultancy services provider in Nigeria, have projected that investors will cautiously stake their funds on stocks this week in the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), as the shortened number of sessions ahead of the yuletide break reduces market activity.
The experts, in the firm’s “Weekly Stock Recommendation 22nd – 24th December 2025” Note circulated to our correspondent on Monday, also predicted that following three consecutive weeks of gains, investor sentiment was expected to tilt towards consolidation and selective profit-taking, resulting in lower volumes and targeted buying.
The analysts hinged these forecasts on the expectations that the local bourse will likely focus on fundamentally strong stocks, rather than broad-based participation.
They recalled that last week, the Nigerian Exchange enjoyed improved investor sentiment, thereby extending the bullish run into a third consecutive week as the NGX All-Share Index advanced by 1.76% w/w to close at 152,057.38 points.

As expected, the investment researchers noted that the sustained rally lifted total market capitalisation to N96.94 trillion, highlighting continued accumulation across select equities just as market breadth strengthened further during the week, with 55 equities recording price gains.
Reflecting on the micro and macroeconomic indices in the economy over the past few weeks and the outlook and implications for the economy and markets, the experts noted that the November inflation rate firmly reinforced Nigeria’s ongoing disinflationary cycle.
According to them, while seasonal demand and base effects may result in a marginal increase in December’s report, overall, the moderation in price pressures signals improved macroeconomic stability as the economy enters 2026.
