The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Debt Management Office (DMO), has announced the listing of N260 billion worth of bonds for subscription at its October 2025 auction.
A circular released on Monday via the DMO’s official X handle on the debt instrument indicated that the offer comprised a N130 billion 17.945 percent Federal Government of Nigeria August 2030 bond (five-year reopening) and a N130 billion 17.95 percent FGN June 2032 bond (seven-year reopening).
The bond auction, which opened on Monday, October 27, 2025, and is scheduled to be settled on October 29, 2025, had its each unit priced at N1,000, with a minimum subscription of N50,001,000 and subsequent multiples of N1,000.
The Office stated that interest on the bonds would be paid semi-annually, while principal repayment will be made in full on the respective maturity dates.

According to the circular, he bonds qualify as securities in which trustees can invest under the Trustee Investment Act and are recognized as Government securities under both the Company Income Tax Act and the Personal Income Tax Act.
In addition, they are also exempt from tax for Pension Funds and listed on both the Nigerian Exchange Limited and FMDQ OTC Securities Exchange.
The FGN Savings Bond Programme, introduced in 2017, was designed to deepen Nigeria’s domestic bond market, promote financial inclusion, and provide retail investors with access to secure and low-risk investment opportunities.
