NIPOST Celebrates SERVICOM Customer Service Week, Honours Outstanding Staff

The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) on Monday marked the year 2024 SERVICOM Customer Service Week with the theme ‘Above and Beyond’ and assured its customers in the country of its commitment to efficiently serving them at all times.

The week-long celebration focused on reinforcing NIPOST’s dedication, recognizing, and honouring the essential contributions of customer service professionals, highlighting their commitment to delivering exceptional services, and enhancing customer experiences.

In her special remarks at the event, the Postmaster-General of the Federation/CEO of NIPOST, Ms. Tola Odeyemi, commended the efforts of the SERVICOM team and all other staff of the postal service agency for their commitment, hard-work, and dedication to duty.

While restated the NIPOST’s commitment to prioritizing customer service, Odeyemi maintained that “together, we can redefine the standards of service excellence in NIPOST and in Nigeria.”

Earlier in her keynote address,, the National Coordinator/CEO, SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, called for a unified effort to improve service delivery across all levels of the postal services.

According to her, the objective of celebrating Customer Service Week is the recognition of hard work and dedication of staff who go the extra mile and strive to create positive customer experiences as well as to serve as a platform for building customer loyalty and satisfaction amongst stakeholders who come to receive or take services, she added.

She described “Quality of Above and Beyond” as empathy, understanding, and addressing customer emotional needs rather than exhibiting preferences to selected customers.

Akajemeli maintained the NIPOST’s “customers deserve nothing less than our best”, and therefore charged all the staff to embrace a spirit of TEAM (Together Each Achieve More).

A major highlight of the Customer Service Week was the honouring of some outstanding employees by the management, including Focal Officer of Finance & Accounts, Charles Akor, and FCT SERVICOM Desk Officer,Emeka Olu, for their dedication to duty.

The management stated that their contributions had significantly enhanced NIPOST’s service delivery, embodying the essence of going “Above and Beyond.”

Other highlights of the occasion was a presentation of SERVICOM Report in NIPOST from January to September 2024 by the NODAL Officer, Mrs. Nayi Felicia Na’andati, and a lecture delivered by the Head of Operations, SERVICOM, Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa.

As the postal service agency concluded the celebration of the year 2024 SERVICOM Customer Service Week amid fanfare, the management indicated that its focus remained fostering a culture of excellence that prioritizes customer needs and expectations, guiding the organization in its commitment to exceptional service delivery focusing on its vision of “Connecting Nigeria, Delivering Solutions, and Impacting lives”.
