The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of two executive commissioners for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) forwarded to it by President Bola Tinubu.
The Red Chamber of the National Assembly confirmed the appointment of Rimini Haraya Makama as Executive Commissioner, Stakeholders Management; and Sunday Oshadami as Executive Commissioner, Technical Services of the commission.
The confirmation of the Executive Commissioners followed the consideration of the report of the Committee on Communications NCC presented by the chairman, Senator Bilbis Aliyu Ikra.
Senator Bilbis told the lawmakers during plenary session the nominees were screened by the committee and found to be qualified and satisfied the conditions for appointment as executive commissioners in NCC.
The duo’s confirmation by the lawmakers was swift based on their professional antecedents and unblemished public service records.
Rimini is an experienced senior corporate player known for her talent in building trusted advisor relationships with governments and has earned a reputation as a commercially-minded executive.
She holds an LLB from the University of Jos, Nigeria and was called to the Nigerian Bar. Rimini holds an LLM in International Law and World Order from the University of Reading, United Kingdom.
Oshadami has had over 20 years of career in the NCC, moving through the cadres and rose to the position of Director, Spectrum Administration in January 2023.
