The Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC) has donated 100 high-tech laptops to Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora in Ibarapa Local Government Area of the state, as part of its nationwide interventions in tertiary institutions to enhance research and teaching in the institution.
The donation of the laptops to the college is under the telecom sector regulator’s Advance Digital Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADAPTI) initiative.
Specifically, the ADAPTI initiative is aimed at bridging the digital Information knowledge gaps that exist in the academia and facilitate remote research and learning among lecturers and students by providing computers, other ICT equipment, devices and connectivity infrastructure to enable the beneficiaries acquire requisite ICT skills in the new digital economy ecosystem.
The initiative involves supply of laptops configured and integrated into the cloud laptop computers with e-learning suites in higher institutions across the country.
Before the latest donation of the laptops to Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, the NCC had provided various support programmes and initiatives at the University of Ibadan, the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Ladoke Akintola University,Ogbomosho; and many other tertiary institutions in the state.
