World Sleep Day: Mouka Advocates Healthy Sleep For Wellbeing

Mouka, one of Nigeria’s leading foam mattresses and other sleep products manufacturing companies, has joined the World Sleep Society and thousands of sleep health professionals and advocates raising awareness of the importance of good sleep for healthy living.

The World Sleep Day, which is celebrated annually on March 17, is being commemorated this yearwith the theme “Sleep is Essential for Health”, is dedicated to spreading awareness about all aspects of sleep.

The World Sleep Society believes that just like eating well and exercising, sleep is a behaviour that is foundational to one’s physical, mental, and social wellbeing

Speaking on the theme of this year’s event, Mouka’s Managing Director, Mr Femi Fapohunda, explained that healthy sleep on quality products remained crucial for sound health, adding that “sleeping on quality mattresses and pillows keeps the body properly aligned for a great night’s sleep and general wellbeing.”

In her remarks at the event, the Chairman of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP), Lagos Chapter, Dr. Remi Durojaiye, pointed out that good sleep remained important for optimal health, stressing that during sleep, the individual’s “body works to support healthy brain function and maintain physical health”.

Mouka rolled out grassroots education which focuses on the theme to celebrate this year’s World Sleep Day.

In partnership with the Nigeria Society Of Physiotherapy, Mouka is conducting physical sensitisation sessions in selected companies in Lagos even as it also deployed radio communication and educational contents in print and social media platforms for a wider audience reach.
