The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, has assured the management of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) of the commission’s readiness to give it necessary support in the current drive towards the full digitalization of the nation’s economic system.
Maida made this promise during his inspection visit to the Digital Bridge Institute, Enugu Campus while interacting with faculty members, students, and staff to gain insights into the institute’s role in advancing digital education and skills development in Nigeria.
He commended the institute’s management for its commitment to fostering technological innovation and bridging the digital divide across the geo-political zones of the country.
The EVC, who lead a team of the NCC’s management during the familiarization tour of the DBI, Enugu Campus, participated in interactive sessions and demonstrations which highlighted the Institute’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and training programmes.
While harping on the benefits of investing in digital education and capacity building to empower Nigerian youth, enhance their employability, and drive socio-economic growth, the industry expert reiterated the commission’s commitment to fostering collaboration with all institutions and industry stakeholders to accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation journey.
Maida also commended the management of the Institute for consistently nurturing talent and fostering innovation in the ICT sector, adding that the commission will continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting digital literacy and expanding access to telecommunications services nationwide.
