The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Ambassador Mariam Yalwaji Katagum, has restated Federal Government’s, through the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment , to continue to attract more investment into every sector of the nation’s economy.
Yewaji, who made this promise in her remarks at the closing ceremony of the EnjoyNigeria 2021 held in Abuja, pointed out that “the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment is mandated to amongst other things attract investment into every sector of the economy”.
Represented at the event by the Director, Investment Promotion Department in the Ministry, Mrs. Olukemi Arodudu, the minister said ENEX 2021 was designed to draw the attention of stakeholders to our nation’s creative, cultural, entertainment and tourism sectors, with emphasis on women and youth and the potentials of the sectors they operate in.
She further explained that EnjoyNigeria Expo 2021, which is the maiden edition, was also aimed at drawing attention to the potentials that abound in these sectors and get people across the length and breadth of Nigeria thinking of the creative, cultural, entertainment and tourism industries as money generators.
Noting that the first edition of EnjoyNigeria 2021 was small, the minister promised that the successes recorded would be consolidated upon in subsequent editions in ensuring that the aims of the initiative are achieved.
Yewaji commended the Founder/President of Welcome to Nigeria Project, Mr. Isa Yusuf Sago, for his foresight in initiating the laudable idea of creating a platform for the support of the creative, entertainment, cultural and tourism industries to become revenue generators in the country as well as other stakeholders that made ENEX 2021 a reality.
The EnjoyNigeria Expo 2021 started on the 6th December with varieties of show which included cultural display, musical performance, food display while the Expo ended with fashion show and awards. The Expo ended on 10th December, 2021.
The Minister announced that the next edition of EnjoyNigeria Expo (ENEX) would hold from 13th – 16th September, 2022.
