NCC, Swedish Envoy Parley On Skills Devt In Telecom Industry

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, on Tuesday received a delegation of the Swedish Embassy in Nigeria led by the Swedish Ambassador, Annika Hahn-Englund, at  the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja during which they parleyed on areas of collaboration to grow the two nations’ telecommunications industry.

The meeting availed an opportunity for strengthening the partnership between the NCC and Sweden, especially in capacity building and skills development initiatives.

Speaking during the parley, the NCC boss harped on the importance of leveraging opportunities for NCC staff to learn from their Swedish counterparts, thereby enriching their knowledge and skills in telecommunications management and regulation.

According to him, the exchange programme will not only enhance the professional skills of the Commission’s workforce but also foster stronger ties between Nigeria and Sweden in the telecommunications sector.

In her remarks, the Swedish Envoy expressed her government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Sweden, particularly in areas that contribute to the growth and sustainability of the telecommunications industry.

Hahn-Englund commended the NCC for its proactive approach in seeking partnerships for capacity building and promised Sweden’s readiness to collaborate further in achieving mutual objectives.

As the end of the meeting, both parties reiterated their commitment to strengthening their partnership and knowledge-sharing initiatives, based on what they considered as the invaluable benefits of collaboration in enhancing innovation in the global telecommunications industry.
