Bulls Hold Sway On Equities Market, As Investors Gain N32Bn

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Wednesday ended with a gain of N32 billion in market capitalization, as bulls sustained their grip on the investment market

Following the development, the market’s All Share Index (ASI) increased by 0.12% to close at 48.426.49 points while the capitalization appreciated by N32 billion to close at N 26.376 trillion.

Data from the market regulators indicated that at the close of the trading session, the stock market value stood at N26.3 trillion, representing advancement by 5710.05 basis points or 13.36% since the beginning of the year.

According to the data, market breadth closed negative as THOMASWY led 12 gainers, while SCOA topped the 17 losers’ table at the end of day’s trading session.

A further analysis of the market indices showed that the volume traded totaled 146.206 million, valued at N3.35 billion in  2,810 deals.

The NGX top ASI gainers comprised THOMASWY, up +10.00% to close at N0.44;  JAPAULGOLD, up +7.41% to close at N0.29;  HONEYFLOUR, which was up + 6.14% to close at N2.42; MAYBAKER, up +5.26% to close at N4.00; and NB, which also gained +4.62% to close at N38.50

Conversely, the top ASI losers were SCOA, which was down – 9.38% to close at N0.87; UNITYBNK,  down – 7.02% to close at N0.53; CORNERST, down – 6.25% to close at N0.45;  COURTVILLE, which dipped – 6.00% to close at N0.47; and CHAMS, which dipped by – 4.35% to close at N0.22

The top 3 traded stocks by volume were FBNH – 59,271,970;  GEREGU – 14,276,279; and  ZENITHBANK – 12,510,061 while those that topped the trading chart by value include GEREGU – N1,534,802,498; FBNH – N639,973,643; and NESTLE- N372,264,632
