Privatization Council Approves 9 Firms To Verify NIPOST Properties

The National Council on Privatisation (NCP) has approved nine companies to immediately commence a nationwide verification of NIPOST Properties & Development Company Limited, with a view to determining the current titles and ownership status of the properties nationwide.

The decision on the entities was taken during the 2nd meeting of the Council this year chaired by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The companies, which are spread across the six-geo-political zones are, Oghogho Ayanru, Raji Adewale Associates, Alaba Odunlanmi, Law Field Barristers and solicitors and B.A. Wali & Associates, Aliyu Abubakar & Co, Bola Fabola, Tayo Osuntogun & Co and Primal Chambers.

A statement from the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE),  indicated that the firms were to provide proposal on the verification exercise on NIPOST properties with Oghogho Ayanru to provide for South East Zone Batch 1; Raji Adewale Associates is to provide for South East Zone Batch 2 while Alaba Odunlanmi is to do same South-South Batch 1.

Similarly, Law Field Barristers and solicitors are to provide proposals for carrying out the assignment in South-South Batch 2;  B.A. Wali & Associates to do the same for North West Zone, Aliyu Abubakar & Co, North East Zone; Bola Fabola, North Central Zone; Tayo Osuntogun & Co, South West Batch 1; and Primal Chambers, South West Batch 2.

The NCP approval requires the companies are to provide proposals for carrying out the assignment based on validating the titles of the properties, thereby determining if the properties were duly registered at the relevant Land Registries; and determining the ownership status of the properties as well as the type, size, and location of the properties.

The companies are also to provide any additional information that will enhance the audit of the state-owned postal agency’s properties located across the six geo-political zones of the country.
